What does life as a woman or girl look like in your part of the world?

I am the only daughter to my parents and they didn’t treat me less. I was always favored within my family, but that didn’t let me overlook the harsh realities that society puts on women.

What do you think is the most significant barrier to women empowerment and/or gender equality today?

The most significant barrier to women empowerment, I believe, is that we act or believe that we live in a modern society but actually we still lay on the foundations of old societal norms. The biggest barrier is the hypocrisy and I firmly believe that change must be from within.

OK, tell us all about yourself. Who are YOU & what should the world know about you?

I am a Business student pursuing a major in Global Business. I just want everyone to know that always believe in yourself and never shrink yourselves by the label put onto you by society.

Describe yourself in a few words: "I am... a deep learner and a critical thinker.

 

What are you most passionate about and what are you doing with that passion?

I am an avid reader and a traveler. I like solo traveling as it makes me learn and explore my potential and a lot of other things that life has to offer.

What are some of the most notable events (milestones) that have happened in your life to date?

One of the most notable things is that I'm a business student but diverting my field to women empowerment and motivating them to own their voices and powers.

What obstacles have you faced and overcome?

The society which believes that girls are less than boys - I'm working to prove them wrong through education. I just want all girls to constantly keep learning and educating themselves.

Looking externally into the public sphere, what female public figure inspires you the most to achieve your dreams & why?

I've always admired former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama. Her grit and resilience puts me in awe and inspires me to aim for the things that society thinks are unachievable, especially because you are a woman.

What's your definition of success?

Success would be when I provide the platform for other women and girls to empower themselves.

How have the women and girls around you helped you to get to where you are today?

The woman who have constantly helped me to be where I am today is my mother. Make no mistake about it, that she is a single mother. She is the epitome of strength and grace.
