Tell us all about your companies. What services do you offer?

Salve Consulting Limited is a Holistic HR consulting firm, whose aim is to cater to the needs of the individual, as well as the organization. We believe that every person deserves to be in an environment where they feel at peace and can thrive. We deliver recruitment, learning and development, employee management, career counselling amongst other HR-related solutions.

The Jewel Center is a community and co-working space where every individual is inspired and encouraged to thrive. It is an oasis of inspiration, encouragement, and empowerment. We aim to help people to live their message, to foster relationships, and to share information freely.

How did you get the idea or concept for your companies? What was your mission at the outset?

My search for where I belonged drove me to dig deeper, and my love and passion for seeing people win and thrive was my inspiration. For me, there’s nothing greater than seeing someone happy and at peace in a space where they feel like they belong, where they feel at home. My soul statement is to make a difference in at least one life every day.

Growing up, did you always intend to start your own company?

Yes, I did. It was either I worked for my late father or for myself. My father is my mentor and my hero.

How have your past personal & professional experiences helped you to run your companies?

I have been through a lot personally, the most difficult being surviving a terminal illness, and surviving immense loss. Surviving these incidents made me realize that I was put on earth to do more, so this propelled me to want to do more, be more and change more lives. The will to LIVE is my driving force.

What is the biggest personal/professional obstacle you've had to overcome?

Personally, surviving a terminal illness - cancer and numerous pregnancy losses. Professionally, it was finding myself and my purpose.

What's your definition of success? Do you consider yourself a success? If not, when will you?

I don’t consider myself a success. I consider myself a work in progress and a girl on a mission - a mission to fulfill her purpose with the time she has left.

Have the women around you helped you to rise? How?

Yes. My late mother was the wind beneath my wings. Even though she didn’t do all she wanted to, she made sure she encouraged my siblings and I to reach for the stars and succeed. She always said “don’t become a liability, make sure you do what makes you happy and makes you stand on your own”. I have never let go of that.

What are some of your future plans? Are you working on anything else right now?

Right now, I’m focused on Salve Consulting and The Jewel Center - to take them to the highest pinnacles they can reach.

What advice would you give to a woman starting out in your industry or starting her own company/organization?

Do what feels right to you. Believe you can. Dream. Believe. Do.

Describe yourself in ONE word. Resilient

Complete this sentence: "To be a girl or woman today is..." Exciting.
